Before you open a single study guide you need a map. The Security+ exam is written against a published list of objectives grouped into domains, and every question traces back to one of them. Learning to read that list is the first real study skill.
Domains are weighted not equal
Each domain carries a percentage weighting that tells you roughly how many questions come from it. The weightings are published by CompTIA and revised with each exam version, so treat the current official document as the source of truth and expect older blog posts to be out of date.
Objectives read as verbs
Every bullet starts with a verb: compare, explain, apply, analyse. The verb tells you how deeply you must know the topic. A compare objective wants you to distinguish two things; an apply objective expects you to choose the right control in a scenario.
Use the list as a checklist
Print the objectives and rate your confidence on each bullet from one to three. This becomes your study tracker for the rest of the track, and you will revisit it at every stage to see what has moved.
