Designing, building, securing and consuming APIs — resource design, authentication, versioning, error handling and integration that survives the other side changing.

A working course on both halves of the API problem: building one others can use without asking you questions, and consuming ones you don’t control without your system breaking when they change.

• Design resources and endpoints that are predictable without documentation

Syllabus — 5 modules, 33 study hours

1. API design fundamentals (7 hrs)
2. Authentication and authorisation (7 hrs)
3. Errors, contracts and versioning (7 hrs)
4. Consuming APIs defensively (7 hrs)
5. Documentation and developer experience (5 hrs)

Includes a 6-week study plan, practice tasks with stated learning outcomes, an honest readiness self-assessment and a progress tracker.
